Holy Crap!

This is how we do hail in Oklahoma.
This has been the weirdest weather this year, nothing but months and months of snow and ridiculous ice storms, now it's all tornadoes and roof-exploding hell. That's not a mispelling.
On second thought, my nails look good.

So...

There was an earthquake? And an iPad? And what's this "Spring" you speak of? Freakin' taxes.

Learning NOT To Lean

There's not much that makes me sadder than realising a friendship isn't worth saving. I've always thought my exhusband was always my best friend, but this last year I've finally seen he never was any kind of friend to me at all. I have ended friendships with one betrayal, how could I have borne so many from him? And be willing to bear more?

The truth is, life is not scary and hard when I'm alone. It is peaceful and joyful, and the life I would have sought sooner if I'd known it existed. I adore my couches and my farty dogs and my 'beer fridge' filled with water and strawberries. I love that my children call and tell me their good news first, and that it takes so long for them to even remember to tell their dad. Most of the time he wouldn't know anything unless I told him. And I won't anymore. He takes so much for granted, and he treats me like a nuisance when I call. So he's on his own with them from now on. No more help from me.

I'm learning not to lean on anyone, and it's about damn time.

Where Does The Time Go

This time of year it seems like the days fly by. It's because it's tax season and I work 6 days a week, and most of those are 14 hour days. It's too bad, too, because no one enjoys winter like I do. I could sit and watch the snow fall and never be bored. Well, I don't think I've ever been bored in my life, but the weather holds particular fascination for me. Sunshine, snow, hail, thunderstorms, tornadoes, blizzards, all of it captures my attention in a very good way.
I wasn't completely enthralled with the ice storm two weeks ago, but only because the power was out for 4 days and I had to stay with friends to stay warm. I love being alone! And I found out my car phone charger will charge my Kindle, so once I get gas logs this spring I'll be able to stay here at home no matter what. That's some good information to have, right there. I realise we might not have another storm like that in my lifetime, but just in case...And then I'll have a fire to look at. So, win/win!

Who Loves Ya, Baby?

Ah. Some people have Grandbabies. I have Granddogs. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of Grandchildren, but for the time being, Abby the Beagle and Gracie the Chihuahua are the little loves in my life. Gracie is all class and style, Abby is the same brand of goofy as her owner, my son. She loves a good warm blanket and a silly face.
I find joy everywhere, especially in that puppy's mug. Who loves ya, Baby? Nan does!
